In this class you will develop a better understanding of how to prevent injury via appropriate and thorough warm up, bodily awareness, and an understanding of body potential and patience.
We want to ensure that you are all protecting your bodies from potential injuries and build good practice habits now for a lengthy climbing career.
We want to make sure this class answers questions like “How do we warm up?” “How long should a warm up be?” “When do I know I’m warm enough to climb?
Your coach Andy will deliver the fundamentals of a warm up, including why a thorough warm up is an absolute must to perform effectively and avoid injury. You will understand the warm ups for specific climbing techniques, and how we are able to adapt a warm up without any equipment.
This session will be run in the gym, using our equipment and various techniques including cardio warm ups, mobility and dynamic stretching and show you how to progress through different holds on the wall from low to high intensity.
Extra Information
This class is run by Andy. You may only need to attend this class once to learn the skills, but you are very welcome to come to multiple sessions if you see the benefit or need multiple sessions to reinforce the learning.
