As the sun (finally) shows up over Leeds and the crash pads start drying out, it can only mean one thing – City Bloc’s Summer League is back. After the electric atmosphere of the Winter League Final, we’re riding that high straight into another season of chalky palms, friendly rivalries, and good vibes at the Bloc. Whether you’re chasing podiums or just love a reason to climb with your crew, the Summer League is your ticket to a season of progression and community.

What to Expect from This Year’s Summer League

We’ve taken everything you loved about the Winter League – the creative sets, the flexible scoring system, the buzz of being part of something big and rolled it into a fresh five-round summer series designed to keep you climbing all season long.

Each round will feature 35 brand new problems ranging in difficulty from beginner friendly blocs to those designed to make even the strongest climbers sweat. You’ll have three weeks to get through each round, so you can climb at your own pace and revisit your projects without feeling rushed. We’ll be using the BETA app again to log your sends and track your progress throughout the league. It’s your personal comp tracker, your motivator, and your friendly reminder that maybe you shouldn’t skip leg day.

Whether you’re fresh off your first session or have fingers made of steel, you’ll find the right category to compete in. From beginner – advanced including para and open, the League is built to be inclusive and challenging for everyone.

Finals with a Proper Bloc Vibe

If the Winter League Final was anything to go by, this summer’s showdown will be one for the books. Earlier this year, climbers packed out the Bloc for a proper night of tension, triumph, and top-tier sending. The crowd energy was unreal, the problems were wild, and the level of support between climbers reminded us why we love doing this.

The Summer League Final will follow a similar format, with the top scorers in each category invited to compete in a high energy head-to-head event. Expect flashing lights, big moves, and even bigger cheers as we crown this season’s champions.

The Winter League Final was packed with high energy performances from climbers who’d clearly put in the work across all five rounds. The finals really showcased how consistent effort throughout the series pays off – and that’s what makes the League such a rewarding challenge.
