If this is your first time or haven’t climbed with us since our reopening.
City Bloc is not just a climbing wall, we are also a community and we take the health, safety, and wellbeing of our customers and staff very seriously. We know that many of you are psyched to get back to indoor climbing and we want to assure you that you will be able to do so with full social distancing in a clean and safe environment. We can’t wait to see you back at the Bloc.
City Bloc will operate via a pre-booking system in order to adhere to Government guidance on capacity management, social distancing and hygiene. We have put in place a number of new measures to comply with government guidelines. These measures will be reviewed regularly in line with government guidance.
There are a few steps we need you to take before you first climb back at the Bloc. Please follow the steps laid out below (don’t worry, you’ll only have to do them once!)

Step 1:
Read our new guidelines
This document includes all the information you need. We ask that you read this fully to ensure we are all keeping each other safe. It includes Frequently Asked Questions, how to use the space safely and what is expected of you when using the space.
Step 2:
Watch and learn
Please take a moment to watch the following videos if you’re new to indoor climbing, City Bloc or visiting for the first time since 26th July 2020.
- Induction
- How to social distance climb and stay safe at City Bloc
- Training Area Induction
If you are a completely new to climbing, you should head over to our New to Climbing page to learn more about getting started.
Step 3:
Complete a Registration Form
If you have never registered as a climber at City Bloc before you will need to complete our registration form.
N.B if you are completely new to climbing then you will need to visit the New to Climbing page and watch the induction video.
Step 4:
Book your Climb
Bookings must be made online. You can pay with bank card or PayPal. Pass holders, first visitors and concessionary entries please select ‘Pay Later’ as you go to checkout and speak to the reception staff upon entry.
Please arrive 5 minutes early for your booking to pay, if necessary, and to check in. You will be required to adhere to your pre-booked time slot.
Ensure that you have completed the new Registration Form BEFORE booking. This will not only allow you to take full advantage of your booked climbing time, but will also reduce instances of contamination by use of tablets and shared items.
